About Us

Suubi means "hope" in Luganda. This house of hope is a program overseen by JENGA CDO that seeks to identify boys approaching adulthood who have never had a successful resettlement with families, are orphans or have had lives threatened by their clan. It will be free of charge and, for 2 years, provide daily meals, accommodation, along with literacy, numeracy and vocational training for each boy in their chosen field of interest. These young men will learn through community responsibility and shared decision making to take  care of the compound and each other.

An on-site social worker will be provided along with weekly counselling, pastoral care and teaching through a trained social and pastoral care worker who has known these boys for the last ten years. The goal is to nurture these young men to eventually live productive and independent lifestyles, emotionally, relationally and spiritually transformed
